Jack's Playground Animal Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for orphaned kittens and puppies, ensuring they receive the love and care they deserve. At Jack's Playground, we go above and beyond by also welcoming special needs babies who require additional attention and support. Our dedicated team of volunteers is committed to nurturing these vulnerable animals and helping them thrive.
My name is Jess, and I am the founder of Jack’s Playground Animal Rescue. I have always had a strong love for animals and work in the veterinary field. My partner and I have 3 rescue dogs- a pit bull, lab, and pit mix. Over the last few years, I’ve fostered a variety of furry friends and realized this is what I was made to do- love and care for animals. I believe that every pet deserves a second chance at life, and that is what Jack’s Playground is here to do.
I chose the name “Jack’s Playground” to memorialize a rescue kitten who was so special to us, and sadly lost too soon. Jack was the sweetest boy, who loved helping socialize and care for new foster kittens. Even the teeniest bottle-babies were welcomed into our home by Jack’s snuggles. Without him here to groom the new babies for us, we knew immediately that we wanted to keep his spirit and his love for new friends at the center of both our mission and our hearts.
Jack’s Playground focuses on providing exceptional care for neonatal and baby kittens who require extra attention. Fostering bottle baby kittens is a truly unique and rewarding experience, requiring a special individual who can dedicate their time and care to these vulnerable kittens. Many shelters are already overwhelmed with animals and may not have the necessary resources or time to provide the specific care these neonatals require. Newborn kittens need to be fed every 2-3 hours, as they are unable to regulate their body temperature or use the bathroom independently. Our foster parents are familiar with their care and comfortable with keeping a strict schedule to ensure these babies not only survive, but thrive!
